I write this in the hope blogging can be like prayer in maybe making something happen. My heart goes out to the people in Gaza who are being uprooted from their homes and places of worship, places familiar to them & which they had grown used to living in. I do not accept the term settlers because they were put there as pawns in an careless way by Sharon, who perhaps planned one day to uproot them, but my feelings for them are sad & now they are again pawns for Sharon. I'm saddened to see the terror of the children in this & by the knowledge it is not an uplifting thing but more of man's careless, heedless oportunistic pursuit of power.
I am also deeply saddened to see people herded about, this time in Zimbabwe where terribly poor people in shanty villages, with no possessions are gathered up & dumped by their government who either denies it or claims it to be slum clearing. They are dumped we are informd by Amnesty International, in barrren sites with no sanitation, shelter, or aid, scarcely any water. Our inhumanity towards one another appears to be boundless. Yet, for the most part there is no empathy, not even a sensitivity to the mass suffering of others.
